HARVEY RIBY JOINS JCW SPORT ENTRY FOR OULTON PARK<\/h2>\n

Harvey Riby will make his debut in the JCW Sport class of the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE this weekend in the final meeting before the summer break at Oulton Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Riby will take over at the wheel of the sustainable fuel development entry being run by the championship this season in the first phase of a move to switch to a 100 per cent sustainable fuel in the future, with the youngster being the fourth driver to race the car this season.<\/p>\n

Former JCW racer Hannah Chapman, racing rookie Scott Lear, and Miata Trophy front-runner Roan Lundy have been at the wheel for the three meetings run so far, making Riby the first racer from the MINI CHALLENGE Trophy to take up the opportunity to sample the new class.<\/p>\n

Riby is currently in his second season competing in the Cooper class and has picked up a best finish of sixth so far this year with EXCELR8 to sit just outside the top ten in the championship standings.<\/p>\n

His decision to compete in the JCW Sport car this weekend comes with the Cooper season having already entered its summer break, with racing only resuming at Donington Park in late August.<\/p>\n

As with the previous three drivers, Riby will run as an Invitational entry which means he will not be eligible for championship points or trophies in the two races scheduled this weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really excited about the opportunity to compete in the JCW Sport car this weekend,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re in our summer break already in the Coopers so this is a chance for me to try out the car and see what it\u2019s all about.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cLike a lot of drivers on the Cooper grid, I\u2019d love the opportunity to make the step up into JCW Sport or JCW at some point, so hopefully this weekend will put me in good stead for the future.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
