ALBERT WEBSTER DOMINATES FOR MAIDEN JCW SPORT SUCCESS<\/h2>\n

Albert Webster produced a dominant drive in tricky conditions to secure his first Vertu MINI CHALLENGE win in the rescheduled second round of the JCW Sport season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With Hannah Chapman not present – and with Chris MacKenzie and Roan Lundy both ineligible having not been part of the Donington Park meeting – a four car field lined up for the start of the race with Ben Crossley at the head of the grid.<\/p>\n

When the lights went out however it was Webster who made the best getaway from the line and wasted little time in getting himself to the head of the field, battling ahead of the tail end of the JCW class through the opening lap.<\/p>\n

Having passed James Griffith, the JRW Motorsport driver then also briefly edged ahead of Lydia Walmsley as he broke clear of his class rivals – lapping comfortably quicker than anyone else in the Sport category.<\/p>\n

Webster would eventually take the flag in tenth spot overall, with a winning margin in class of more than 20 seconds.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got a blinding start to hit the front but the conditions were so difficult with the lack of grip,\u201d he said. \u201cThe front of the car was sliding and then the rear of the car was sliding, and it was a case of having to hang on to it.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI managed to battle with Lydia at one point and thought I\u2019d have some fun, and it just shows the potential that the JCW Sport car has.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Webster was aided in his run to victory by the fact that the race wouldn\u2019t pass without drama for two of his rivals, although Cameron Richardson did manage to recover from a difficult qualifying session to bring his car to the flag in second spot.<\/p>\n

Unable to match Webster\u2019s pace at the front, Richardson didn\u2019t have to worry about being attacked from behind after Crossley was forced to pit with a gear linkage problem and points leader Dylan Hotchin found himself struggling for visibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t see a thing,\u201d Hotchin said. \u201cThe car was fine when we went out to the grid and were doing the green flag lap and then all of a sudden, it steamed up. I had to just make sure I stayed on the track from that point, and bagged the points.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
