ROAN LUNDY JOINS SNETTERTON GRID<\/h2>\n

Roan Lundy will become the latest driver to sample the new JCW Sport class of the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE when he joins the grid for this weekend\u2019s third meeting of the season at Snetterton.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old will get behind the wheel of the Sustainable Fuel Development car being run in house by the championship as it works towards having all cars running on 100 per sustainable fuels by the 2028 season.<\/p>\n

Lundy follows in the footsteps of Hannah Chapman and Scott Lear, who piloted the car during the opening two meetings of the campaign at Donington Park and Brands Hatch.<\/p>\n

The Essex racer will be making a return to front-wheel drive competition with his most recent racing experience having come in the Miata Trophy, which he joined for the first time last season.<\/p>\n

Lundy currently sits seventh in the Miata Trophy standings after two meetings, with a best finish of fifth at Brands Hatch during the recent support round for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been looking at the MINI CHALLENGE for a while, so I\u2019m really excited to have the chance to join the grid this weekend at Snetterton,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a fantastic opportunity for me to experience first hand what it\u2019s all about, give it a go and see how I compare to the regulars.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a big change to the MX-5 that I have been racing, and it\u2019s been a few years since I raced a front-wheel drive car so there will be lots of learning, but I can\u2019t wait to get started.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate that I\u2019m a guest driver, so I don\u2019t want to get in the way of other people\u2019s championships, but I\u2019ll still be pushing, and I\u2019m excited to see what I can do in the Sustainable Fuel Development car.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
